Client: AERONAUTICA CIVIL DE COLOMBIA

Scope: Provide supervision services for the Airport’s southern runway rehabilitation plan and routine maintenance along airside areas of the El Dorado International Airport.



VQ’s supervision services provided for the following activities:

• Studies and designs: surveys, geotechnical assessments; geophysical characterization using high performance ground penetration radar, deflectometry (HWD); detailed engineering design for the airside infrastructure rehabilitation.

• Rehabilitation: south runway flexible pavement resurfacing including connections to all structures; and transitions and crossings, berms, headlands and turn keys. Includes: milling, routing, fissure sealing, patching, installation of bonding irrigation, geogrid, asphalt mix type FAA P-401 to design thickness, horizontal marking, removal and reinstallation of beacons and visual aids. The rehabilitation objective is to recover optimal security conditions and service levels of the existing infrastructure.

• Routine maintenance: Clearing, drainage systems cleaning, maintenance of enclosure perimeter fence, demarcation maintenance, crack sealing, patching, supply and installation of hot and cold asphalt mix for emergencies, concrete maintenance, rubber cleaning with hydro-washing.
